Project Diary
The SiEUGreen project contributed to future Urban Agriculture and circular economy through proof-of-concept in showcases, scaling up and implementation in showcases and future continuation beyond the project period in Europe and China. To this end, a series of milestones were achieved.
Project Objectives
The project SiEUGreen aspires to enhance the EU-China cooperation in promoting urban agriculture for food security, resource efficiency and smart, resilient cities.
Pilots

The project contributes to the preparation, deployment and evaluation of showcases in 5 selected European and Chinese urban and peri-urban areas:

Resource-efficient agricultural techniques

The deployment of the three technologies implemented in the different showcase locations is a challenge for the project and required careful planning:
Green: technologies used for growing food
Blue: technologies for the treatment of waste
Yellow: technologies for the generation of energy
IT Software: software for user engagement or communication of the projects with the respective communities.
Systems produced in different countries or continents were integrated with the purpose to demonstrate circularity in practice,
produce food for the targeted populations and promote the accomplishment of the vision and objectives of each showcase.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 774233.
